New proposals are being brought forward for our Conington Road site
Meyer Homes has resubmitted new full planning application for their residential-led mixed used scheme off Conington Road in Lewisham Town Centre.
The application site provides a major opportunity of regeneration within the Lewisham Town Centre area.
Following refusal of the previous full planning application on 21 May 2018, discussions with London Borough of Lewisham (LBL) have led to the enhancement of two of the public benefits proposed.
Namely significantly improved public access to and management of the new ‘Skydeck’ Lewisham, the Rooftop Viewing Gallery; and agreement with Network Rail to bring forward 50% of the S106 Lewisham station improvements contribution to facilitate the necessary design feasibility study. This will also be a key factor in facilitating the opening of a new northern entrance into the station.
The proposed development will comprise of 365 new within 3 buildings along with 284 sqm of commercial /community/office/leisure uses space.
There will also be 270 sqm of affordable workspace, car and cycle parking along with servicing facilities.
The development is also aiming to provide significant public realm improvements by way of new landscaped open spaces and improved pedestrian and cycle routes.
Meyer Homes will continue to deliver an exemplary residential-led redevelopment of this highly accessible underutilised brownfield site, maximising development potential, contributing to housing delivery, and enhancing the vitality and viability of Lewisham Town Centre and the Conington Road area.
The proposed development, now with an enhanced ‘Skydeck’ and station improvements offer, fully accords with local, strategic and national planning policy and would result in significant social, economic and environmental regeneration benefits to Lewisham.
The application site is at the northern end of Lewisham town centre.
It comprises two of four car parking areas and internal circulation space, within the existing Tesco store, located off Conington Road.
Our plans seek to redevelop the two surface carpark areas to provide:
365 residential units (1, 2 & 3 bed)
Commercial and communal space at ground floor level
Significant public realm improvements by way of new landscaped open spaces and improved pedestrian and cycle routes
Parking (35 spaces) and servicing-facilities
